Is God Angry At Haiti?

It’s been offered by some leaders that God might be angry at Haiti, or that this has happened because of some curse on them because of the behavior of their ancestors. I do not need to rebut this, because Jesus Himself did.

Luke 13:1Now there were some present at that time who told Jesus about the Galileans whose blood Pilate had mixed with their sacrifices. 2Jesus answered, “Do you think that these Galileans were worse sinners than all the other Galileans because they suffered this way? 3I tell you, no! But unless you repent, you too will all perish. 4Or those eighteen who died when the tower in Siloam fell on them—do you think they were more guilty than all the others living in Jerusalem? 5I tell you, no! But unless you repent, you too will all perish.”

Did one set of Galileans sin worse than another set and thus they had a tower fall on them? Jesus says no. He said, speaking of our eternal souls, that we’re all sinners, and that we all need to repent for our eternal salvation. No one in the impoverished nation of Haiti has sinned worse than those of us in the extremely prosperous nation of the United States.

We’re all sinners, we all stand on a level ground before the cross. We must all call upon the name of the Lord and be saved.
