Update from Jacmel Haiti from Pastor Lalfeur
Posted by admin | Filed under Uncategorized
Hello Friends!
I spoke to Fedony twice today about the situation in Jacmel. It is so sad to know that everything has changed since the US Army guys took over the small airport, flights have been veryyyyyyyyy limited. You must have a US passport to come by to ask for any information, they are treating the haitians like they have a disease on them in their own country. For example my friend Jenny Tryhane who is a white lady from Barbados allowed to go in instead of Pastor Bannes a Haitian that was expecting 2 friends from DR. I feel it for my people. Yesterday evening they even had a small demonstration in Jacmel because the people cannot cope with certain things. It is my prayer that God will intervene to deal with the hearts of those US guys on the ground so that they can act more and more like human beings with feelings…
I am also grieving the killing of some of my Haitian brothers for a bag of rice that was sent for them in the first place….They forget that they are dealing with people…Anyway let God be the judge!
Last night they gave the electricity for a few hours in Jacmel for the very first time since the quake hit Haiti.
This morning our team on the ground had a major food and other items distribution, they were able to give packages to 150 different families coming from several communities around. And up to now, they continue to cook for more than 100 persons twice daily. All this is possible because of you our good partners and friends who support the Conduit Mission and Score International. We speak God’s abundant blessings over all of you!!!
We are confident that God will see us through in this time of trouble. He will wipe our tears away.
Keep on giving your best! http://www.facebook.com/l/32720;Www.conduitmission.org

The Church in Jacmel worshiping and praising even through this tragedy!
A Message From Our Haitian Whirlwind /Pastor Gerald Lafleur

Praise God! Praise God! Praise God! I am lost for words as I was able to speak to Fedony while the team SPECIAL team was on the ground delivering relief supplies to the people of Restoration Ministries as well as many others in Jacmel. I shed many tears of looking at the picture posted by Pastor Darren of Conduit Church. I am so glad that I have partners like you guys…
Distribution in Jacmel is being organised in an orderly manner, no fight over food or water as CNN trying to put it the world, there are some people who care for others in the midst of it all and they still have the heart of sharing. That’s what has been happening on the grounds in Jacmel, many people have quickly learned how to share with others because ALL QUANTITY CAN BE DIVIDED.
This morning our team was also able to give even special monetary assistance to over 80 elderly folks so that they can buy stuff for their families like oil for their lamps etc. Each of them received 150 Haitian Dollars. Oh yes they all expressed their gratitude for that gesture. Well this was made possible due to the donation that we have already received from Conduit Mission and his partners. Thanks so much!!! You are really helping us to make a difference.
I was told this afternoon that Reubens, our translator is alive in Port-au-Prince, as well as my cousin, Catherine. So I have a lot to celebrate today in the midst of everything.
Hey don’t stop giving!!! Www.conduitmission.org
Shalom!

A Message from Mark Stuart in Jacmel, Haiti. Conduit We Have Our Marching Orders
Posted by admin | Filed under Uncategorized
I emailed Mark Stuart to find out if we can actually get a ship docked in Jacmel. We’ve been working to get NGO’s to focus on Jacmel Haiti.
This is Marks’ response.
yes. I met with the mayor tonight. The port can be used, cruise ships can come in there. We need help bad here is the city. What kind of supplies are on the boat? How fast can they get here? We are starting to feel people get frustrated and scared and that usually predicates looting and riots as you know. Also…we are donating money to the city of jacmel. The mayor said we were the only ones that have helped at all. Its crazy…I told him we could give 10k tomorrow and he almost cried. He is doing everything himself on his credit card. The mayor has the infrastructure and connections to get major things done if we can help rent equipment and buy food/supplies . But the city has no money. There are big machines here just sitting because the money is gone. If your organization can raise money for jacmel we can get it to best people to help the most pressing needs. There are dead bodies in the rubble and maybe one small front loader doing everything. Sad.
Mark
We know what we need to raise money for. Conduit Nation we need your help. 100% of the money you’re sending is going to Jacmel Haiti. Please prayerfully consider donating.

Gallery: Earthquake damage in Jacmel
“I saw the Haitian Red Cross attempting to rescue someone who was trapped and still alive under a collapsed cement building. (And had been for 2 days.)
As I stood there listening, I heard people around me talking. Her first child was taken out from the rubble and was dead and lying in a body bag right in front of me. She wailed and wailed because of the death of her child.
But she sat there, clinging to her husband for support because she knew she still had a living child under the rubble. The rescue went on for a while. The smell of death made everyone cover their faces until someone finally brought out a jug of formaldehyde and started splashing it all over the body bag.
We waited and waited while people continued to dig. After some time had passed they were passing water in as they’d apparently found the person and were getting them water. More time passed… and while the rescue continued, the child died.

When they came out with the news that the child died the mother wailed and wailed and wailed, “Bondye! Mwen pa kapab fè anko!” (“God, I can’t do this anymore”) In my mind, images of women delivering their babies flashed through my mind in a slideshow… “Bondye… Mwen pa kapab fè anko! Mwen pa kapab fè anko! Mwen pa kapab fè anko!”

And Update From Pastor Lafleur On Haiti

Hello Everyone!
“Better late than never”. I am in a better position to update you about our folks at Restoration Ministries in Jacmel because this morning on my way to the Miami Airport I was able to talk to Fedony our Coordinator on the grounds for about 5 minutes…
The Restoration Center is damaged but standing, he was not in a position to give me a full assessment of the damage. The house that we are building there is still standing but the fence will need to be refixed.
Our little place of worship is still standing though the walls split but many of our church members whose small houses collapsed, were able to spend Tuesday and Wednesday nights in that facility. There are alot of people who died in Jacmel especially many students who were attending classes in some of the schools that operated in the evening.
Pastor Rodrigue’s wife, Erika along with Fedony’s wife, Marie Laure narrowly escaped death because they left the school where they were attending an English Class 30 minutes before the quake; that 2 stories building is completely flat on the ground so, many of the teachers and students have lost their lives even some University students were there too in their regular classes. Fedony was to be in class that same afternoon but early in the day he just felt the need not to go, otherwise he would have been right there in the middle of the catastrophe. He lost a classmate who usually sat next to him on the same bench.
On top of all this great calamity, the only hospital in Jacmel is destroyed. Some of the UN officers, together with some local doctors and other medical persons are forced to set up a make shift hospital in on the ramp of the small and only airport in that city as they are doing their best to give medical assistance to the many victims that they were able to rescue under the rubbles.
Loving Light Hotel where we normally stay, sustained some damages but it is still standing while other hotels, churches etc are badly damaged…
I also spoke to an aunt of mine in NY who was able to receive a 1 minute call from one of my uncles last night, he was unable to fully express himself but many of them are safe and taking shelter in a church yard nearby…He also mentioned that there were some other info that he was not ready to share with my aunt yet which left me to wonder now if my dad is still alive or any other family members died in the whole thing. Anyway God knows and He is still in charge.
Restoration Ministries have already received $US 7250 from many friends, partners and others via the Conduit Mission Haiti Relief drive. Special thanks to Pastor Darren Tyler, Jeremy Hezlep and other members of Conduit Church in Nashville TN, Philip Peters, Theresa Swain from New River Fellowship and many others who have coordinated such a drive on the internet. With that money, our Crew on the ground will be providing food, water and medical supplies for some of the victims in Jacmel especially the poorest of the poor with no discrimination.
Finally we would like to encourage everyone to continue with the relief effort for Haiti. DON’T STOP DONATING online just visit www.conduitmission.org or you can send Checks/Money Orders payable to “Restoration Ministries” at:
